For the #BikeTooter crowd of the road/gravel/cyclocross persuasion (because of combo brake/shifter levers on drop bars): Do you ever use your ring finger to shift to a harder gear? Most of the time I use my middle finger. However, I can say that I definitely do this when accelerating from a stop, especially at the start of a cyclocross race, because of grabbing the hoods so hard while sprinting.
