@douglasvb@m.ai6yr.org @LPerry2@mastodon.social @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org wwII rationing remnants. what makes this more amusing is that she saved and reused foil, so i'm not sure why she kept buying new. but you knew you had reached "adult" status when you visited and got to take her to 4 banks to update passbook savings books, buy a particular shade of miss clairol hair dye, and to the publix to buy aluminum foil.

@paul_ipv6@infosec.exchange @douglasvb@m.ai6yr.org @LPerry2@mastodon.social Oh, I'm sure... we all get PTSD and fixate on certain things that will help us get past that. i.e. aluminum foil apparently worth more than money at some point in WW2, it seems!

@paul_ipv6@infosec.exchange @douglasvb@m.ai6yr.org @LPerry2@mastodon.social @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org my grandma knew the cost of everything and would hit like six stores to get everything. And when she died had an enormous bag of wrapping paper we could we use. Also she taught me how to (and to) get all the toothpaste and peanut butter used instead of tossing some out with the container.
