RE: https://mastodon.social/@arstechnica/116132930980342790 It’s gonna be so funny when it turns out that Alzheimer’s is a post-viral syndrome of Varicella (brain Shingles!) and we turn out to have cured it inadvertently in recent decades by developing the Chickenpox and Shingles vaccines. Herpesviruses are turning out to be a particularly nasty bunch. I just did a quickie review of their Wikipedia pages and we’re learning all sorts of ugliness. Looks like they *all* go latent in nerves and come back bad.
