I'm riding up to Leeds on Wednesday and it's "only" 30degC. I like your lessons about social pace.
I gave myself proper heat stroke last year and the gastric consequences were deeply unpleasant. Now I'm really wary.

Two litres in a bag underneath front of top tube. Tube and bite valve clipped to bars ( or would round aero skis). Can still fit one 650 and one 950 bottle on racks. I tend to put flavoured/isotonic in bottles and plain water in bladder Sportpursuit had them for only a ridiculously high price rather than the normal high street exorbitantly gouging price.
