I guess I care more about content as I don't have much time for interactions anymore, so I need to see something useful when I open my fedi client for a glance. As for Cloudflare, I just use their free plan and it's convenient for me, it makes my server appear to others with the same IP. I don't use a VPS, just my home server and that's subject to IP changes. Also it is very possible in the future I'll end up behind a cgnat connection and Cloudflare can bypass that problem easily.

@charlie2alpha@fedi.charlie2alpha.org if i wanted to enjoy content, there's lots of it shared through the fediverse. pictures, silly videos, posts on the web, gemini or even gopher etc. as for cloudflare, i have a negative opinion about them, because of some shitty things they have done over time. i prefer to avoid them when i have the option for it. but i get it when it comes to hosting from home. ISPs are *ass*
