@pubby@mastodonapp.uk Yeah, that can happen, even in places where tellers are present at the polling station.
There is technology which allows tellers to cross voters off directly in the database and have them disappear from the lists on the knocker-up's phone within seconds, but far from everybody uses this. So if the tellers are still writing numbers down on a pad of paper there's a wait until that's transported to whoever is doing the data entry, then that takes time, and it can easily total more than an hour. So it's not a surprise if you're still getting people knocking on your door an hour after you've voted.
Of course, people who refuse to give their number to the tellers can also be expected to be knocked up later, as the parties won't know they've voted.
