I’m currently travelling through my fourth European country. We visit the capital every time. And we use public transport there. Why don’t we have a single European payment system for public transport? In one country, you have to buy tickets in advance from a machine outside on the platform; in another, you pay on the bus with a payment card; in a third, you have to install an app and top it up with your credit card. It’s a bit of a faff figuring out how to buy a ticket every time. #europe
