Israel received unrefined Uranium, which RSA had huge stores of, and access to remote locations in the Indian Ocean for testing (see, e.g., the Vela Incident) and shared its tech in exchange. Doesn't reduce its friendly relationship with the RSA, but it wasn't just Israel arbitrarily giving RSA the bomb.
