I support the people of Israel, Palestine, and Gaza.
Why?
Because they're people! And people have the right to exist and to live a life filled with peace, love, and happiness.
Yet, with that harmless statement across much of the North American and European Fediverse, I've just upset people — simply because I value human life and see everyone as equal. Because I refuse to hate anyone and instead support the people of Israel, Palestine, and Gaza equally.
Somehow it's not politically correct.

It is completely insane. Wanting peace and safety for all human beings shouldn't be a controversial take, let alone something that upsets people. It says a lot about the current state of online discourse that basic empathy has somehow become politically incorrect. Insane is the exact right word. We’ve reached a point where tribalism has completely overshadowed basic human decency, to the the point where valuing all human life equally makes people angry.
