@davidgerard@circumstances.run “oh we can’t ban everyone from the internet who makes a mistake” boy I wish my mistakes resulted in a gigantic paycheck, but this wasn’t a mistake green spent over a year doing crafted undisclosed marketing, choosing and framing topics to forward the Effective Altruist mission to make LLMs look dangerous but powerful (a type of critihype marketing invented by the AI corporations that funnel money into effective altruism, but you didn’t need me to tell you that as both OpenAI’s Altman and Anthropic’s Amodei have spouted the same talking points as Green), and interviewing members of the Effective Altruist and TESCREAL communities that’s not a mistake, that’s labor. that’s why these rich fucking assholes paid him. his job was to convince you that the science on LLMs is that they’re very powerful and therefore very dangerous.
