@ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk Here is California there is an effort by State legislators to end something called the "water's edge" loophole, which allows multinational corporations to avoid state taxes by pretending that their profits made here were actually made in some other country which offers tax havens for corps. I am not sure if Palantir has grabbed onto this loophole, but it wouldn't surprise me.   • @lauerhahn@sfba.social @ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk transfer pricing, sometimes blatant but particularly for IP that isn't traded, has been a thing for ever. The evil oil companies were already doing this back in the 1960s and 1970s. I know because I had a uni. placement at one then.
