@aliceamour@beige.party In part. If the reading is used as an entrance into the symbolic world of mental imagery. If the imagery is allowed to develop in a sort of organic process of growth. But I have known those who deliberately read much, but limit the subject matter and / or with very narrow interpretation, so as to stifle further expression. These turn words into traps, and build prisons out of books, to satisfy their sense of moral superiority. And do not overlook the importance of other arts.

@aliceamour@beige.party Sadly, the degeneration of my eyes has made one of my favorite hobbies, reading in bed, extremely difficult. But over my five decades I have indeed been a voracious reader.
