For one of the less crappy ones I would recommend ProtonDrive from Proton for non-self hosted and Nextcloud for self-hosted
Better suggestions are welcome

@stux@mstdn.social I've been using Hetzner for backups and am reasonably happy with that. They also offer hosted Nextcloud but have not used it. I have read some things suggesting they may have been taken over by private equity, though, which is always a terrible direction.
