@Stoori@polyglot.city this is just as valid in a city. We live centrally in an apartment building, own a parking spot, and could afford to own a car we put there. We don't do it, partly because we know it'd significantly lower the threshold for going by car to places. The upfront cost of renting one is helping us make better choices.

@Stoori@polyglot.city my wife, the USAian, also can't stop raving about the freedom of not having one. Not to worry about insurance premiums and incurring cost and all the shit that comes with ownership all the time.
