Dan 3(?) with a KVM setup switching between personal and client-provided laptop. - Switching takes around 4 seconds which is pretty annoying. - The Keychron Q17 is nice but I can't type well on it yet :/ - Having a single USB-C cable going to each laptop is great. - This setup kinda suggests getting a webcam + mic - also annoying. - The Mac insits on having a "mac" keyboard layout even when selecting Britsh PC (that was one of the problems I had intended to solve)

@dantleech@fosstodon.org I use an external webcam with a built in mic which solves both. The latter shouldn't be a thing. I use a US International layout (I use dead keys for accents on French words). Or do you mean swapping the mac and option keys? You can go to Keyboard settings, then "Keyboard Shortcuts" > "Modifier Keys" and swap 'em around.

@dantleech@fosstodon.org Dedicated webcam allows to have the videochat on a large monitor (and the webcam above it) without awkward views for the others (where you look at a different screen than where the camera is) Microphone can be solved via headphone (with mic) From your description I assume the KVM switches the USB-C from the Docking station to the laptops... If not: disregard what I said 🙈
