@hanktank61@NerdJoy.social Slowcookers are a very normal part of Midwestern US life, but you might also be confusing them with rice cookers, which are sold in Asian markets more frequently. I have both and I actually use the rice cooker more (it's not totally limited to just rice), but it does depend on the specific recipe. A rice cooker cooks at a medium temperature until the liquid is absorbed or evaporated, a slow cooker just heats at a consistent fairly low temperature indefinitely.
