The other night in #TheChat, I was reminded that, for many years I thought that Twoflower the Agatean tourist in the Discworld books literally had four eyes, because he was described as having four eyes. I have been a spectacles-wearer since I was 7, yet somehow I didn't clock that it was a reference to him wearing glasses. I am not a smart man. HOWEVER, I was vindicated when someone noted that apparently Josh Kirby, the cover artist for the early books didn't clock it either, according to Twoflower's depiction on the cover of The Colour of Magic.
