@neatnik@social.lol I suggest adding a part on what not to do. Like being overly brief (based on your examples, the alt-text being one word "geese" or "puppy"), not just repeating the text from the post to which the image is attached, and not adding stuff that is not actually relevant to the image itself (like say, a joke about how geese are unruly - that should go in the post itself). All of those are things I've noticed in alt-text before.

If I share an image which is mostly text (but maybe with some tabular formating or similar) - Is it fine to describe the table, but assume to rely on OCR to pick up the text characters in the image, in posts like this? https://mas.to/@fleuron/117046983144627607 or should the alt text be a replication of the text content of the image?
