@cstross@wandering.shop I imagine that a North Sea crossing would be overnight at best. (Harwich↔Hoek van Holland was an overnight trip the one time I took it and it’s a shorter distance.)

@acb@mastodon.social It's a tolerable crossing but the DFDS ferries on that route have shite accommodations and lounge areas: they're about 40 years old. The Stena Line Harwich ferries are much nice but the crossing is only 8 hours—barely time to sleep and then you're being woken up for breakfast, like a trans-Atlantic flight in business class.
