@lolcat@digipres.club I did a lot of scud running in my 20+ years as a helicopter pilot. Being able to completely control air speed is vital to success.

@lolcat@digipres.club You also reminded me of when I flew with a 747 engineer friend. As we came in for landing, I kept going slower and slower and slower and she was quietly sitting beside me freaking out (as she admitted later). In her mind, lift was not possible without air speed but she kept her mouth shut because she trusted me. It was funny chatting about afterwards. This is also a hurdle I needed to jump when I learned how to fly gyroplanes. My brain was telling me (wrongly) to slow down on landing!
