I bought a small pop-up tent that lights up from the inside in different colours and my 5-year-old grandson loves it so much that he's been begging his mom and dad to come over to my place.
We've been "camping" now three afternoons, with fake campfire (real marshmallows have been consumed though), a raucous thunder storm soundtrack via Soundcloud (camera-flash-created lightning) and kid-friendly* ghost stories.
*don't want to give him nightmares!
We also added Northern Lights to the mix with a purple light projected on the ceiling.
It's ridiculously entertaining even though I don't get to go inside the tent - relegated to sleeping under the "stars."
Had to actually replace my flashlight batteries today because we used it so much over the last couple of weeks. ⛺ 😂

I send him home high on marshmallows, totally hyped up from over-the-top wild ghost stories that we made up (each trying to outdo the other), and I don't have to try and get him to sleep at the end of the day - haha. Who knew grandparenting could be so damn fun?! It's messing with my Soundcloud algorithm though. I'm getting some weird recommended playlists, now... ⛈️
