One of my junior high friends in the 80's had a father that work for Priam, a disk drive manufacturer at the time. He would bring home rare earth magnets (samarium cobalt) that we would prank the PE coach with by sticking them to a locker and betting him he couldn't pull them off.
What sorts of magnets are in those speakers?
