And this isn't even a https://xkcd.com/927/ because each fork is a niche unto itself. Some eschew tracking, some are anti-AI, etc. But they're all essentially after the same overarching goal.

I agree in principle, though I am not sure if Firefox or Chromium is the best starting point. Each have their own advantages.
