My wife almost got scammed by #Cognius These sneaky sneaks offer an IQ quiz and then need you to set up an account and pay 79p to see the results. What they don't make obvious is that includes a £30 monthly subscription to their 10 minute a day brain training app that is taken from your card on short notice. The reviews on Trust Pilot are illuminating. All the positive reviews are showing as "invited" reviews. Which on closer inspection is unsurprising as some of these reviews are docking points for having been forced to review in order to continue using the app. The vendor answers all the negative reviews. This is made easier by all answers being substantially the same "We would like to clarify that Cognius is not a fraudulent service. Subscription terms are clearly presented before the purchase is completed, and a subscription is automatically activated after 3 days with the relevant information provided in advance." Would have thought that a service striving to be "non-fraudulent" might examine how clear they're making these subscription terms after the 50th time of writing this in the two months it's been active. As far as my wife is concerned she had no recollection of any subscription terms being mentioned until I looked into the initial charge; searched what it was for and found the reviews. Only after that did she check her inbox and found an email that was sent, after she'd already signed up.
