RE: https://infosec.exchange/@GuillaumeRossolini/114528117027500354 While trying to better understand my usage patterns today, I did some experimentation with the little box that my electricity utility installed at my place (it has buttons and a screen and I can see how much estimated energy the house is consuming at any given time) Why does my vitro ceramic stuff draw 25W constantly? And the oven, same amount while also doing nothing at all? There is only a clock display that serves no purpose. All together, that’s over 1 kWh per day; for comparison, if I were to use the oven to heat something up for 10 minutes, I’d be using about half as much energy 25W is what my internet box draws too, which I also find outrageous btw —but at least that one gets constant use Who builds these things 🤷‍♀️ #EnergyTransition #degrowth
