@benroyce@mastodon.social Voting is not that. Voting is still putting elites in charge to manage our lives in the way of corporate interests. Also, just because someone holds office does not mean they hold power. Mamdani is a prime example of that. He's mayor, sure. He can do a little bit in NYC. But he's still beholden to city council and to New York State. If Mamdani had power, Bibi would be in prison or would never have set foot in NYC a couple of weeks ago. There is a difference.

@majorlinux@toot.majorshouse.com one mamdani tenure will not get meaningful change, correct so we iterate and sustain and get 50 mamdanis. then you see the real change you and i want by voting!

  • @benroyce@mastodon.social When I say we need to take power, I mean we the actual people, the working class, take power to run this country. We make the decisions. At our jobs. At our grocery stores. At the pump. At the doctor. All of it! Remember, in 2016, Clinton won the popular vote. We got Trump anyway. How is that people-powered control? That was an archaic system put in place to say you don't. Some of us still don't. People can't vote because of draconian voter ID laws which are getting worse.
