One thing I miss about living on the mountain is the wildlife. Seeing roos and wallabies and kookaburras and snakes and echidnas just doing their thing without a second thought about those pesky humans is beautiful. I could, and did, sit for hours watching the 'burras fish in the dam Kangaroos are hilariously fun to watch too. They have such dopey, lovable faces. The way they bounce through the world at Mach 5 is incredible. But the best thing about watching the roos was when you'd see a slightly heavier roo lean down to nibble on some grass and a teeny tiny head popped out of the pouch on mum's belly to have a snack too. Nature is pretty amazing and I miss being so immersed in it. That said showers and electricity are pretty nice too...
