@exa@sleeping.town i mean if the key backup is re-usable that is actually a big step forward. last time i looked at key backups using one would let you back into your account but wipe your conversation history. and i get the uses of encryption but 99.9% of the time i don't need encrypted chat, i need to talk to my friends, and it's def been a struggle that historically the platform cares more about encryption than it does stable communication.
