@ophiocephalic@kolektiva.social the exact reason I'm ultimately not impressed by the majority of art (or movies or music) made today. Its not good, AND it didnt take effort. I mean back in the day even if something wasnt that good, I could appreciate the effort. Now its all low effort slop.
Example. In my music projects we record all live. Sometimes to tape. Very very little edits if any. Very few overdubs. Find ANYONE else doing this, its very hard. Its overprocessed to death. Other than indie and deathmetal.

@bridgeenjoyer@gamepad.club The slop crisis has made me more appreciative of all the flawed creativity born of actual humanity. E.g., reassessing weird old movies that no one else likes, because they didn't successfully conform to genre conventions. Failures maybe, but interesting human failures
