@plutarch@gotosocial.plutar.ch @steter@mastodon.stevesworld.co @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org I mean.. it doesnt hurt to reseat things as long as you redo the thermal paste (if it's dried up itll cause the heatsink to float after reseating otherwise) but I do think it's important to note the 14900k is *known* to break itself if you run the default bios and never updated it. it can work with a bios update, you might be able to save the other one that way, but intel is literally replacing CPUs past warranty for this issue because it is so widespread and well known
