@nimonomiyoa@meow.social I know, I loved it too, but, well... For starters, it was sangar's "screwing around" mod. So many of the design choices in this mod can be summarized as "sangar just wanted to screw around". Which did give us some really cool stuff, like 3D printing! However sangar moved on to a new "screwing around" mod, called... OpenComputers 2. Because sangar wanted to screw around with RISC-V emulation. Except OC2 was too different and had much higher overhead and was eventually abandoned when sangar just, vanished. It also didn't help that a lot of mods were stuck on 1.12 because - and I am going to get a lot of hate for even saying this - LexManos made the right move rewriting Forge. There was no real release of Forge for Minecraft 1.13, because LexManos noticed that there was technical debt building up, and it had to be addressed. Case in point, if anyone reading this also plays on the SKS Minecraft Server, this is why computers lose their contents and altars lose their spells: NBT data corruption was a known issue and the rewrite was the best way to fix it for the long term. However, that one version gap was enough to kill a lot of mod projects, as people moved on because of school and/or life. As for trying to drag OpenComputers kicking and screaming into the future, well it was written in Scala, which had major breaking changes *AS MINOR POINT RELEASES* and nowadays doesn't even target Java anymore (WebAssembly is the futurrrrrre) so uh good luck rewriting the mod
