@nimonomiyoa@meow.social Just to wrap things around (because I hit my instance's generous 1500 character limit with that post!) the entire reason OpenComputers was written in Scala instead of Java in the first place was because... sangar wanted to screw around with Scala. As such, when it comes to fantasy computers in Minecraft mods, all that's left is uh... a fork of ComputerCraft. Which is unpleasant. Though from what I saw, the terminal screen sizes can be controlled via configs again, but it is overall both super limiting (very tight storage limits) and completely busted (you just need some rocks, redstone dust, and glass to make a desktop computer) Now if I actually had the time and the energy to do it, I do have an idea for a fantasy computer mod that, while it won't be as amazing as OpenComputers ever will be, would still be very interesting. It would be an addon mod for Immersive Engineering, making use of the late-game tech tree from that mod to make all the components. The end result would be a Z80-based fantasy computer, making heavy use of the various input and output instructions for interacting with the Minecraft world. In short, there's 256 8-bit ports that can be used; half this space would be dedicated to external peripherals, and the other half to internal peripherals. And then using something like a BASIC environment you can control these ports with code to do things in the Minecraft world or get input into the computer.
