My wife’s family is pretty long-lived. My family is not (my father is an outlier at almost 80).
I hope I get to retire “young” enough that I get to spend some golden years with my wife and then, I dunno. Haunt her or something. If she gets remarried I’ll be sure to make sure he treats her right or else it’s gonna be fuckin’ Poltergeist up in there.
But yeah. I do hope I get to have at least a little retirement.

@rk@mastodon.well.com my mom and dad both retired early, Mom because a stroke disabled her and Dad to be able to spend a little time retired. It sucked losing them within 3 months of each other, and worse having been half their respective age in the year each passed.
