It's not in the article but they've also rolled back their Claude Code rollout too.

  • All of this is noise to companies that make canned tuna and such btw - you know, companies that actually do stuff and drive the global economy. They can't afford any of this shit. They can barely afford to upgrade their Windows 10 PCs, which are held together by string. Microsoft's SLT often thinks their customers are all the DoD and banks. They aren't. They're orgs struggling with real world problems, who can't afford Visio licenses.

@GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social well it was working better than their own product and then anthropic altered usage costs. so it probably started getting expensive across that many users.

  • @GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social I always assumed killing Claude Code use is just because it's embarrassing to be using a competitor rather than it having anything to do with cost

@GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social That one is mostly because they want their people to use Copilot. Which is stupid, because compared to Claude, Copilot sucks big time.

@GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social Last week I could still see some Microsoft engineer bragging about not having limits. May depend on what they are working on.
