@euval@mastodon.top it absolutely can be stopped by borders, but not borders alone. Development support for countries near our borders, legal migration pathways that are actually accessible, strong border controls with a policy of safe, dignified returns. All of these are necessities. All start by treating migrants as human beings seeking a better life.

@euval@mastodon.top This was a hybrid attack (not the first, Morocco did the same thing back in 2021 over Polisario, now it's Algeria visits), it's no different from what Lukashenka did with Poland. It didn't stop Donald Tusk from tweeting out bold-faced lies about Schengen and fingerwagging about how we need to learn from Poland. Because he's EPP and he will absolutely be dickriding a loser like Feijoo and lie as much as he can get away with it. I'm surprised anybody's surprised. #EPPgonnaEPP @jmaris@eupolicy.social

@euval@mastodon.top @jmaris@eupolicy.social The biggest lie is that right-wing genuinely want to stop mass migration. On the contrary, they *need* mass migration stories to fuel their rhetoric. In this case, there wasn't even actual mass migration as there are controls between Ceuta and the rest of Spain, and most people went back immediately as they found no food nor shelter in Ceuta. But the *story* was already unleashed.
