There seems to be growing enthusiasm for closed generative AI systems with little attention paid to the multiple issues that make genAI so problematic. The consensus seems to be "Oh it's closed, so it's all fine." Is it really? What security measures are needed to prevent hacks or leaks? What are the real resource requirements (does the organization even know)? Where do organizations like museums get their "approved" research materials? Are they scraped? We have to go way beyond the consumer's enjoyment here, even if it's just to draw attention to the bigger picture. We're too well-trained to just shut up and press the buttons. https://ottawacitizen.com/news/canadian-museum-of-history-ai-chatbot
