I've heard several mondegreens for different lines in the chorus of Boston's "More Than a Feeling", but mine was always the second line. The correct lyrics are: "It's more than a feeling (More than a feeling) When I hear that old song they used to play (More than a feeling) And I begin dreaming (More than a feeling) 'Til I see Marianne walk away I see my Marianne walkin' away" But my brain changed "When I hear that old song they used to play" to "When I heard that old song yesterday". I must have sung it that way for decades before I happened to look at the lyrics. @hal_pomeranz@infosec.exchange This is one of the songs that's in my list of mondegreens. I used to sing it "And I've been contrieving". Whatever that meant. It made as much sense to me as Steve Miller's "pompitous of love", so why not?
