In basic training there was a Finnish-American guy who had been a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army. He had so funny facial expressions every time he realised we looked worse than an African guerrilla army.

Only much later did I realize that we had eg first rate anti tank weapons, much of communications equipment, and artillery. So. Much. Artillery.
