The definitive way to play a game in my mind is almost always the original release unless you can find that original release on something with a higher resolution and better frame rate with as close to zero other changes as possible. eg. The definitive way to play Halo CE is through MCC on a PC in the original graphics and sound mode, compared to 4:3 480p@30FPS on the original Xbox.
