I frequently see groundhogs in the area when I'm driving around, but this is the first one in our yard.
We see snakes in our yard a few times a summer. The thing I don't like about them is that they are quiet, so they tend to startle me if I see one. Luckily, they don't want to get anywhere near us, which is fine with me!

@Sharonbw@mastodon.online @kateiacy@universeodon.com @jadevol@mastodon.world I've never seen a groundhog here, which is odd because when I lived only 14 miles away from where I am now I saw them all the time. The same is true of skunks -- lots of them there, none here. I see snakes sometimes, but only small ones. I had one get in my house a couple of years ago, which was exciting. I had to screw up my courage and grab it and take it outdoors. I was proud of myself for doing it!
