@badnetmask@hachyderm.io @radieschen@climatejustice.social you would be surprised how far you can go with usb hdd when you are the only user of self hosted software like i run postgresql, nextcloud, immich and much more on hdd and btrfs without nodatacow for database and it performed just fine(tho weirdly jpurnalctl was really slow when not vacuumed but grafana+loki was blazingly fast :P)

  • @badnetmask@hachyderm.io @radieschen@climatejustice.social here is all of my homelab(outside vps) running a good ammount of services, here is the source code https://github.com/Alper-Celik/MyServers Also cool thing about being that small is that i can bring it me when i go to long trip so if something gpes wrong i can actually troubleshoot it, since i am at University i travel a lot be it going to internship, visiting family etc. And not having a week of downtime because your apertmants vdsl cable got funky while you are visiting your family for a week is nice. Also since my ISP doesnt give ipv6 nor routable ipv4 adress(because of cgnat) i adapted and use tailscale and vps as proxy so my homelab only needs to be able to establish tailscale connection to serve everything

@Alper_Celik@infosec.exchange @radieschen@climatejustice.social Oh, my heavy apps run on a 3 node Kubernetes. The Pi is only for supporting services. 😁
