At the age of 50 I'm just now getting on medicine for ADD. I've suspected I had this for years now. Both my boys are ADHD and, in learning more about it, my wife and I both have said "You know who else this sounds like, right?" But if you were an A student in the 90s, no school issues, no real discipline problems, no one looked at you as possibly needing help. That may sound bitter, but I promise I'm not upset. I get it. I didn't think I had anything going on, either. But I've also dealt with decades of thinking I just wasn't disciplined enough, driven enough, didn't care enough, etc. Turns out my brain was working against me. Anyway, yesterday I went to church and just listened to the sermon, didn't even care about checking my phone or looking up a reference, or anything else I normally would do. No exaggeration to say I could have cried. Apparently there's a way to shut down the constant noise in my head. Who knew? And it gives me A LOT more sympathy for my boys. #mentalHealth #ADHD #Aging
