Much fun was had by all (of us), but it was pure self-gratification. We were an in-group solidifying in-group ties. Which is fine, but only if you don’t care about the larger out-group. (2/2)

@marick@mstdn.social I suppose in your example that is entirely true - although, perhaps the normies were in fact less shocked than assumed by what I now presume to be cyborg-like outfits. In my youthful skater days I figured myself a very rebellious spirit , only to later learn that plenty of “normies” had had far more exhilarating lifes long before I had been born, or were simply not at all impressed with rebellion or Sick Ollies. This to say that I think you are at least partially correct.
