I’ve < 500 chars to illustrate avarice-based human decisions or “shareholder value”.
Kodak (incumbent market leader, IML) execs decided not to move into digital media. When ppl stopped using film commercially & personally, their business purpose “disappeared” & so did the company.
Boeing (IML) execs made their job “finance engineering” instead of aeronautics, compromising safety.
Without human experts & market, who’s using your products?

@dahukanna@mastodon.social @thalia@discuss.systems I think I see the Boeing pattern playing out in so many places. Execs know a lot about finance, almost nothing about the product the company makes. Predictable outcomes all around. Enshittificattion is just the symptom of that.
