anyway my sister stepped in, set it up as a google meet, and it was half an hour of bad audio and only a handful of the supposedly-interested people even joined in, and most of them were coming from the same location anyway

also towards the end my mom talked about how she and my dad just went to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and now she thinks Reagan wasn't so bad after all and I'm like, "he set the current state of things in motion, don't start glazing him" "Oh, but he was so *compassionate*" and I didn't feel like asking her to read up on his response to the AIDS crisis or to homelessness or FDA regulations or any of the other things that she's complaining about today
