If you look at fascism from a policy angle, you quickly realize that this shit doesn't work. Like, that kind of violently oppressive system cannot deliver the world it promises, and it requires a level of cruelty and control that's just not sustainable. So to get people on board, you ditch all that boring stuff like plans and policies and specifics, and instead you focus on a look and feel. For a recent example, take Mar a Lago face. It's an aesthetic that makes a point about the role of women.

Look at the women the current guy surrounds himself with. It's like the prompt was "suburban soccer mom who enjoys being objectified." And that dovetails with the role they would like to see women in: "You'll be our hood ornaments, and you'll like it." Or take a guy like Hegseth. He fucking sucks at every job he's ever held. But because he looks and sounds in a way that exactly aligns with the fascist aesthetic of a "strong" military leader, he commands the world's scariest military.
