Stuff like this kind of annoys me, at the very premise. at "one kanji a day" I'd still not not know half of the 2,136 jouyoukanji And 2 minutes isn't enough, either. It took me about 15 minutes per kanji for initial familiarisation and reviews combined, for about 500 hours of kanji study all up. But I was able to do that 500 hours in about 4 months, not SIX YEARS if you did it 1 kanji a day. If you're reading this and you're intimidated by the numbers, you can save a lot of time using newer methods that emphasis learning kanji in context, it gives you a blurrier idea of the kanji but it's sufficient to get past the intimidation of it and carry on. The learning process takes time, and you'll be spending a lot more time learning words than kanji anyway so it's just a speed bump.
