tour de big bear was a bit of a struggle as i have not been pedaling much in recent weeks- its just too hot. but the mountain was beautiful and the vibes were on, so i pedaled my pace. stopped to take in the view when i felt like it, helped out other riders with mechanicals or who were suffering with encouragement and snacks, and let my brain wander. the temps were high and it was very dry. many riders were fighting dehydration and the altitude. there were plenty of aid stations staffed by kids from local schools and they were a joy to behold whenever one was found. family came along and stayed for the weekend. it was nice to escape the heat of the valley for the cooler temps. 10/10 will return. maybe a kid will ride with me next time?
