Happy Birthday to my Dad, who reminded me today that "technical transformations" aren't new. He lived through the era where interpreted languages were supposed to kill off low-level machine coding. Everyone thought the old guard was extinct. Instead, the two became the foundation for everything we use today. Same panic, different decade.
