But it IS a left vs right thing, though.
The people on the right side of the room wanted to keep the monarchy-- authoritarians who think it's cool to be ruled by domineering jerks on a superiority kick. The left side of the room wanted democracy.
Either we let a few wannabe god-kings burn the planet, or the people take our power back and figure out how to take care of each other properly. That's what it all comes down to.

Yeah, like the right/authoritarian/fascist side is dead set on burning the planet to bring back slavery, so they're kind of making it a polarized issue since Greta et al look extreme in comparison. You can't have shades of grey when someone is demanding megadeath of everything because he owns you. It's still valuable to sympathize with people who are endebted/invested in this stuff, and give them a way out. But denying that they're a death cult and framing it as "environmental concern" is dangerous.
